CTA Employee Charged in Fatal West Loop Shooting

A deadly shootout occurred near the UIC-Halsted Blue Line stop in Chicago, resulting in the death of 61-year-old John Flemister. The incident happened on a pedestrian bridge over the Eisenhower Expressway, where a verbal argument between two men escalated into gunfire. Luther Hopkins III, a 24-year-old CTA employee, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon. Witnesses reported that Hopkins, wearing a CTA vest, was involved in the altercation.
