The council stated the cancellation was due to 'controversial comments made' during the show, reflecting its commitment to the local Jewish community. Hunter expressed regret over the incident, describing it as 'unfortunate' while defending his use of boundary-pushing humor. Despite Police Scotland's investigation finding no crime, the backlash prompted significant complaints from Jewish organizations. The Eastwood Park Theatre, where Hunter was scheduled to perform, will issue refunds to ticket holders as a result of the cancellation.
