Two Bayou Academy Students Killed in Deputy Crash
Two Bayou Academy students, Ryder Houser (15) and Joshua Willoughby (16), were killed in a crash involving Bolivar County Deputy Brionna Brown, 29, in Cleveland, Mississippi, on the morning of July 8. The crash happened at the intersection of Yale Street and Crosby Road as Deputy Brown was traveling west and collided with the students' northbound 1986 Toyota truck while they were on their way to football practice. Both students died at the scene, and Deputy Brown sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident. Bayou Academy and other local organizations have offered counseling and support to students and families. The tragedy has deeply impacted the Bayou Academy community and the Bolivar County Sheriff's Office.
