The Vatican confirmed that this hospital stay is part of ongoing treatment for his recurrent bronchitis. The Pope has previously experienced multiple health issues, including influenza, over the past two years. During his last weekly address, he humorously acknowledged his condition, stating he couldn't read his remarks due to bronchitis. This hospitalization follows a similar need for medical care he experienced last year.
