New York Red Bulls sign defender Raheem Edwards

The New York Red Bulls have signed Canadian defender Raheem Edwards to a two-year contract, with an option for 2027, pending his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate. At 29 years old, Edwards brings extensive MLS experience, having played 177 matches across several teams, including a standout season with CF Montreal, where he recorded five assists. Sporting director Julian de Guzman and head coach Sandro Schwarz praised Edwards for his leadership, versatility, and proven track record, noting his contributions to Toronto FC's treble-winning team in 2017. Edwards has also made five appearances for the Canadian national team, showcasing his international experience. This signing aims to strengthen the Red Bulls' backline, especially after the transfer of young defender John Tolkin to Europe.
