Public Library Expands Accessibility with 126 New Wonderbooks

The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield has expanded its collection with 113 new Wonderbooks for children and 13 for adults, thanks to a donation from its friends group, enhancing accessibility and enjoyment for patrons of all ages. Wonderbooks, which combine print with built-in audiobook players, are designed to make reading more accessible, appealing to children, commuters, and people with visual impairments. According to library representatives, this addition marks a significant step in broadening the library's outreach and fostering a love of reading in the community. The Wonderbooks are available for checkout at the library's downtown Smithfield location.
