Josh McCray Enters Transfer Portal from Illinois

Josh McCray, University of Illinois running back and former Enterprise High School standout, has entered the NCAA transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining. After battling injuries in previous seasons, McCray enjoyed a bounce-back year, highlighted by being named Citrus Bowl MVP following Illinois’ win over South Carolina, where he rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the season with 609 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, and his career totals include 1,310 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns over 33 games. McCray's move comes as Illinois returns several running backs, and he has expressed that sharing carries helps keep the running back group fresh.
