Police identify suspects in 2023 Anne Arundel carjacking, kidnapping

Anne Arundel County Police have identified Crystal Humphries, 35, of Halethorpe, and David Jiles, 39, of Baltimore, as suspects in a violent April 2023 carjacking case where a woman was kidnapped, forced into the trunk of her own Mercedes, and thrown off a bridge into Curtis Creek. The victim survived by swimming to shore and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Humphries faces charges including carjacking, kidnapping, and conspiracy, while Jiles is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, carjacking, and kidnapping. Despite arrest warrants, the suspects remain at large, and police are seeking public assistance to locate them. Authorities encourage anyone with information to call 911, the Northern District Detective Unit, or Metro Crime Stoppers, with a potential cash reward of up to $2,000 for tips leading to their capture.
