India's Chess Teams Awarded Rs 3.2 Crore

India's historic double gold medal win at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest has been celebrated with significant rewards from the All India Chess Federation (AICF), totaling Rs 3.2 crore. Each player will receive Rs 25 lakh, while the captains and coaches will also be rewarded. The AICF's president, Nitin Narang, and secretary general, Dev A Patel, emphasized that this achievement will spark a chess revolution in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the champions, who were also encouraged by Sports Minister Mandaviya to inspire the youth. Mandaviya reiterated the government's commitment to nurturing sports talent and positioning India among the top five sporting nations by 2024.
