Oliver 'Buddy' Pough has been appointed as the interim athletics director at South Carolina State University, succeeding Nathan Cochran, who left the position after a little over a year. Pough, a two-time SC State graduate, is recognized as the university's winningest head football coach, having led the team for 22 years and achieving significant success, including three MEAC championships and multiple Coach of the Year accolades. This is Pough's second stint as interim AD, following a brief period in late 2023. President Alexander Conyers expressed gratitude for Cochran's contributions to the university.
