Dog rescues boy in Helene NC

An 11-year-old boy, Jamie Parker, was rescued by his family dog, Tucker, after being buried under 12 feet of rubble caused by a mudslide during Hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina. Jamie was at his grandparents' house with his sister when the disaster struck, separating him from his family. Despite his cries going unheard, Tucker barked persistently, directing attention to Jamie's location until firefighters arrived. Jamie expressed gratitude, stating, 'I probably would’ve died if it wasn’t for Tucker.' The family lost their home but has received community support, including temporary housing. Jamie is now recovering from his ordeal but will be seeking help for PTSD.
