Chloe Dygert wins gold

Chloe Dygert, a 27-year-old cyclist from Brownsburg, Indiana, achieved Olympic gold in the women's pursuit team event at the Paris Games, marking a significant triumph after a series of career-threatening injuries. Dygert, alongside teammates Kristen Faulkner, Jennifer Valente, and Lily Williams, secured victory against New Zealand, fulfilling a long-held dream and allowing her to finally hear the national anthem on the podium. The journey to gold was fraught with challenges, including a severe crash that left her with a gruesome thigh injury, requiring nine months of recovery. In a remarkable comeback, Dygert had previously earned a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics despite not being fully recovered. Alongside her, Sarah Hildebrandt captured her first Olympic gold in wrestling, defeating Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the 50 KG finals. Additionally, 20-year-old Amit Elor became the youngest American to win a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the same Games.
