Spain experienced a widespread outage across all major mobile and landline networks, including Movistar, Orange, Vodafone, Digimobil, and O2, starting early Tuesday. The disruption, reportedly caused by a Telefónica network upgrade, heavily affected corporate contracts and emergency services, leading some regions to implement alternative emergency contact numbers. Telefónica stated the outage primarily impacted company services and corporate clients rather than individual mobile users, though complaints were reported nationwide. Major areas affected included Madrid, Andalucía, Galicia, the Basque Country, Aragon, and Valencia. The incident came just weeks after a massive power outage in late April affected millions in Spain, Portugal, and southern France. Restoration efforts have resumed emergency lines in several regions, but recurring infrastructure failures have raised concerns about Spain's critical systems.
