Somalia, Ethiopia in talks

Ethiopian and Somali officials are engaged in indirect talks in Ankara, Turkey, aimed at resolving a diplomatic dispute arising from Ethiopia's recent agreement with Somaliland, which Somalia views as a violation of its sovereignty. The negotiations, mediated by Turkey and involving Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, focus on the controversial memorandum of understanding that allows Ethiopia access to the sea via Somaliland in exchange for recognizing Somaliland's independence.
