Simone Biles has submitted a new skill for the uneven bars ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, aiming to make it her sixth move named after her, which would be a first on that apparatus. The new skill, described as a clear hip circle forward with 1.5 turns to handstand, has been awarded a difficulty value of E by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). Biles, who is returning to the Olympics after withdrawing from several events in Tokyo, also successfully executed the Yurchenko double pike vault during training, a move that was named the Biles II last year. She is joined by other gymnasts like Rebeca Andrade, who will also debut new elements at the Games. Biles' coach emphasized a low-pressure environment for her return, allowing her to opt out of events if she chooses. The U.S. women's gymnastics team is preparing for qualifications, which start on Sunday.
