Gibson TV Plans Tony Iommi Heavy Metal Series Fall

Gibson TV is set to release a new limited series titled "Tony Iommi: The Godfather of Heavy Metal" this fall, celebrating the musical legacy of Black Sabbath's guitarist Tony Iommi. The series explores Iommi's pioneering role in creating the heavy metal sound that emerged from Birmingham, England, featuring commentary from renowned musicians such as Brian May, Slash, Zakk Wylde, Dave Mustaine, and Kirk Hammett. The documentary highlights Iommi's influence on heavy metal as a genre and way of life, connecting millions through its rebellious and passionate spirit. Alongside the series, Gibson is reissuing Iommi's signature humbucker pickup, known for its distinctive dark and thick tone, which the guitarist helped design after extensive experimentation. Iommi is also working on new solo material, blending instrumental tracks with vocals, while continuing to engage in musical projects and performances.
