Dump Truck Crash Causes Power Outage in Miami
On Thursday afternoon, a garbage truck crash in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood caused significant disruption after it brought down multiple power poles and power lines, resulting in road closures and widespread power outages. The incident occurred around Northeast 82nd Street and Second Avenue, where witnesses reported that the truck's mechanical arms became entangled in the power lines, snapping three poles and affecting over 200 homes and at least a dozen businesses. Miami Fire Rescue and Florida Power & Light crews responded promptly to manage the situation, redirect traffic, and work on restoring electricity. Several businesses were forced to close early, and traffic was rerouted as the cleanup continued into the night. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and by 11:30 p.m., the affected roads were reopened. The exact cause of the crash remains unclear.
