Colossal Biosciences Raises $200 Million for De-Extinction Efforts

Colossal Biosciences, a biotech startup focused on de-extinction, has raised $200 million in a Series C funding round, pushing its valuation to $10.2 billion. This funding, led by TWG Global, will support the company's advancements in genetic engineering technologies and expand its de-extinction efforts, including projects aimed at bringing back the woolly mammoth and other species. Since its inception in September 2021, Colossal has raised a total of $435 million, employing over 170 scientists and partnering with numerous prestigious research institutions. The company also launched the Colossal Foundation in October 2024 to oversee its conservation-related initiatives.
