House Fires in Greenville and San Jose Displace Residents
In Greenville, a firefighter experienced a medical emergency while responding to a house fire, was treated on scene, and later released from Wayne Healthcare. The fire caused approximately $75,000 in damages, but the home's occupants safely evacuated beforehand. Meanwhile, a separate incident in San Jose saw seven residents displaced after a fire broke out in a two-story house on Woodland Terrace. Although no residents were injured, a cat was killed in the fire, which was extinguished within 30 minutes. The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the San Jose fire, the cause of which remains under investigation. Multiple fire crews were involved in both incidents, demonstrating the collaborative efforts of fire departments in managing emergencies.
