Worcester Man Convicted in 2019 Fitchburg Murder
Mugisha Jeanbosco, 27, of Worcester, was convicted of first-degree murder and armed robbery in the July 11, 2019 shooting of 23-year-old Leon Wilson Jr. in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. The crime occurred during a drug deal in which Jeanbosco and two accomplices tried to steal a backpack of marijuana from Wilson, resulting in Jeanbosco shooting Wilson six times. Jeanbosco faces a mandatory life sentence without parole, with sentencing scheduled for August 1. Strong evidence, including text messages and surveillance footage, supported the conviction. Jason Robinson, 39, of Fitchburg, and Jonathan Baez, 25, of Worcester, were also charged with armed robbery and accessory after the fact of murder and are scheduled to appear in court on August 25. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. commended the prosecution team and Fitchburg Police for their efforts.
