High School Bands Perform in DC Independence Day Parade

High school bands from across the United States, including Cabot High School (Arkansas), Hillcrest High School (Idaho), Alma High School (Arkansas), the Pride of Iowa, and Inglewood High School (California), performed in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., marching before thousands of spectators on Constitution Avenue. Many students experienced major firsts during the trip, such as flying or visiting the nation’s capital for the first time, making the event especially memorable. The bands were selected to represent their states and communities, often through nominations by local officials. Besides performing, students participated in sightseeing and ceremonial activities, including a wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery. The trips were fully funded through community fundraising and donations, ensuring all students could attend. These performances highlighted the students' musical achievements and promoted community pride and educational growth.
