Robert Downey Jr. will return to the franchise in a new role as Doctor Doom, while Chris Hemsworth reprises Thor and cast members from the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises will also appear. Anthony Mackie, who took up the Captain America mantle in Avengers: Endgame, has expressed excitement for the film and reassured fans about its quality. The Russo brothers will direct the star-studded movie, which is scheduled for release in December 2026.
