Indianapolis Councilor Denies Assault Allegation After Police Decline Charges

Roberts denies the allegations, stating the physical contact was consensual and providing text messages to support his claim. Fishers police confirmed an investigation is ongoing but no charges have been filed. This accusation follows recent sexual misconduct claims against other local Democrats and comes amid discussions of overhauling the city’s human resources policies related to harassment. Roberts, who was elected in 2023 and works as Director of Community Relations for the Lawrence Township Trustee’s Office, maintains his innocence and hopes the investigation will clear his name.
