Three Airlines Launch Nonstop Flights to Punta Cana

Allegiant Air is launching a new nonstop flight from Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) to Chattanooga, Tennessee, starting February 13, as part of a broader expansion that includes 44 new routes. This new service reflects PGD's growing appeal, having served nearly 1.93 million passengers in 2024, marking a 1.23% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, Arajet, a Dominican low-cost airline, is set to introduce six weekly flights from Miami to Punta Cana beginning June 13, with promotional fares as low as $174 for one-way tickets. Additionally, Arajet recently initiated flights from Miami to Santo Domingo, further enhancing connectivity between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic. This expansion aligns with the Dominican Republic's focus on developing its aviation sector to establish itself as an affordable travel hub. As competition increases among airlines serving these routes, travelers can expect more options and potentially lower fares.
