Rivian Unveils Halloween Software Update

Rivian is embracing Halloween by releasing a festive software update for its R1T and R1S vehicles, featuring 'Car Costumes' inspired by iconic shows like Knight Rider and Back to the Future. The update, available from October 18, transforms the vehicles' screens and lighting to resemble the talking car KITT and the DeLorean time machine, complete with music and sound effects. Gen 2 models will enjoy additional features such as KITT's exterior red scanner light and a themed '88 mph' effect for the DeLorean. A non-branded 'Haunted' theme is also available, offering spooky sound effects and color themes. This update is part of Rivian's tradition of adding Halloween fun to its vehicles, even as the company faces financial pressures and production delays. The playful update aims to add a sense of whimsy and enjoyment for Rivian owners during the holiday season.
