Man Arrested After Dragging Officer in Trumbull

Brian Jacobs, a 57-year-old man from Stamford, Connecticut, was arrested after dragging a police officer while attempting to flee a traffic stop in a stolen Toyota Tacoma. The incident occurred on Route 15, where Jacobs initially stopped but then drove away, dragging the officer a short distance before fleeing. He was eventually apprehended on Main Street, and the officer was treated for minor injuries at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Jacobs was found in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, leading to charges including assault on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, and illegal operation under the influence. Held on a $50,000 bond, Jacobs is scheduled to appear in court on December 6. No other injuries were reported during the incident.
