Bo Nix Named Broncos Rookie Captain

Bo Nix has made history as the first rookie quarterback for the Denver Broncos to be named a team captain since 1967, following a vote from his teammates. Nix's leadership qualities were evident during his time at Pinson Valley High School, where he organized practices and set high standards for his teammates, leading to two state championships. Broncos head coach Sean Payton noted that having a rookie captain is unusual and emphasizes that Nix earned this role through his conduct and performance. Nix's impressive preseason, including a 23-for-30 passing record, secured him the starting quarterback position for the season opener against the Seahawks. Alongside Nix, the Broncos have five other captains: Courtland Sutton, Patrick Surtain II, Alex Singleton, Quinn Meinerz, and Wil Lutz. The Broncos are optimistic about Nix's debut as they head into the new season.
