Chase mentioned he is open to playing this season without a finalized extension, although he may be limited in action due to his training camp hold-in. He confirmed that he aims to be the highest-paid receiver in the league, seeking to surpass Justin Jefferson's $35 million per year contract, but clarified he doesn't want a significantly higher amount. Despite the prolonged negotiations, which he described as 'pretty aggravating,' Chase remains hopeful for a resolution, stating, 'I’m confident it’ll get done.' Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has also been noncommittal about Chase's status for the Week 1 game against the New England Patriots, labeling him a 'game-time decision.' With two years left on his current contract, Chase has expressed that he would prefer to get paid what he believes he is worth.
