Atlantic City Mayor and Wife Indicted on Child Abuse Charges

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. and his wife, La'Quetta Small, have been indicted on multiple charges, including child endangerment, following allegations of physical and emotional abuse towards their teenage daughter. The indictment details incidents from December 2023 to January 2024, where Marty Small allegedly struck his daughter with a broom, causing her to lose consciousness, and threatened her during a heated argument. La'Quetta Small is accused of punching their daughter and dragging her by the hair, among other abusive behaviors. Both parents assert their innocence, with their attorney stating they will be vindicated. The mayor has indicated he will not resign from his position despite the charges. Additionally, Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman was indicted for failing to report the abuse, as she was allegedly aware of the situation yet did not notify authorities.
