Rapper Nelly Arrested for Drug Possession

Rapper Nelly, born Cornell Haynes II, was arrested early Wednesday morning at the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, St. Louis, for possession of ecstasy pills and an outstanding warrant related to a prior traffic charge for lacking proof of insurance. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the arrest occurred around 4:45 a.m. when Nelly was contacted for ID verification. His attorney, Scott Rosenblum, claims the arrest was the result of an overzealous officer who conducted an improper search, asserting that Nelly was unaware of the warrant. Following the arrest, Nelly was held briefly and then released. Rosenblum expressed confidence that the case would not proceed, highlighting issues with the officer's conduct.
