French Referee Letexier to Officiate EURO 2024 Final

UEFA has appointed 35-year-old French referee François Letexier to officiate the Euro 2024 Final between England and Spain. Letexier, who has been an international referee since 2017, has overseen three matches in this tournament, including Spain’s last-16 win over Georgia. This marks his first major tournament final, raising eyebrows as he is not considered France's top referee. Despite controversies in his career, including death threats following contentious decisions in Ligue 1, Letexier has generally kept controversy to a minimum in this tournament. He will be assisted by compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, with Poland’s Szymon Marciniak as the fourth official and Jerome Brisard of France handling VAR duties. The final will take place at the Olympiastadion on Sunday.
