Meanwhile, Ethiopia is gearing up for the Ethiopian Tech Expo 2025, scheduled for May 16-18, showcasing the country’s commitment to digital transformation and attracting global innovators to its tech ecosystem. This expo aligns with Ethiopia's Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy and aims to foster international collaboration. In South Africa, the AI market is projected to be worth R95 billion, with efforts underway to develop large language models for African languages, addressing local cultural preservation and regulatory needs. However, challenges persist, as highlighted by the need for sustainable infrastructure to support AI research and development in the region.
