Namibian President Hage Geingob Dies at 82

Namibian President Hage Geingob has died at the age of 82 after succumbing to cancer. He was receiving treatment for the illness at Lady Pohamba Hospital in Windhoek. Vice President Nangolo Mbumba has stepped in as acting president until the presidential and parliamentary elections later this year. Geingob had been a prominent politician and a key figure in Namibia's independence from South Africa, and had held the presidency since 2015.
