Grand Juries Return Indictments Across Multiple Counties

Recent grand jury sessions in multiple counties have resulted in a range of felony indictments. In Jones County, the grand jury reviewed 23 cases involving charges such as aggravated assault, fraud, and molestation, and all were advanced to Superior Court. Scioto County's grand jury returned 37 indictments, with charges including failure to appear, possession of deadly weapons while under detention, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and misuse of government benefits. Caldwell County's grand jury issued twelve felony indictments, including sexual abuse of minors, theft, and drug-related offenses, while dismissing two cases due to insufficient evidence. These indictments are formal charges and do not constitute convictions; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
