Rockefeller Kashmir Sapphire Expected to Fetch $2.5M at Christie's New York

Christie's upcoming December 10 Magnificent Jewels auction in New York will feature the "Rockefeller Kashmir," a 17.66-carat unheated Kashmir sapphire ring set in an Art Deco Cartier platinum setting, with an estimated value between $1.5 million and $2.5 million. This historic piece, dating back to circa 1925, has been in the Rockefeller family for three generations and was appraised by Raymond Yard, a jeweler to the Rockefellers. The sale will also include additional Rockefeller estate jewelry such as a Cartier emerald and diamond bracelet, parrot brooches by Raymond Yard, and a Cartier diamond watch. Proceeds from the Rockefeller collection sales will benefit the Sandra Ferry Rockefeller Foundation, supporting youth empowerment programs. The Rockefeller collection is part of a broader series of auctions at Christie's featuring Asian art, American paintings, and decorative arts from Sandra Ferry Rockefeller's estate.
