Vodafone Qatar Launches Nationwide Nokia 5G Network Upgrade

Vodafone Qatar has partnered with Nokia to undertake a nationwide 5G network modernization initiative aimed at enhancing speed, security, and agility for both consumer and enterprise services. The collaboration involves adopting Nokia's end-to-end technology solutions, including multi-cloud core software and digital operations software, to increase network capacity, reduce latency, and accelerate new service rollouts. Key features of the upgrade include intelligent broadband access, 5G slicing for enterprise applications, automation, AI-driven assurance, and enhanced security protocols. This modernization aligns with Qatar's National Vision 2030 and supports the country's rapidly growing digital economy and forecasted ICT sector growth of 8.5% annually through 2030. The agreement also includes a five-year managed services contract to ensure operational efficiency and enable a transition toward fully autonomous networks. Vodafone Qatar's CEO highlighted that this partnership enhances the operator's ability to support diverse and evolving customer needs with a smarter, more secure, and flexible network infrastructure.
