Alan Edward, a 54-year-old neo-Nazi and former journalist, has been found guilty of plotting a terror attack on a Scottish LGBT group and possessing an extensive arsenal of weapons, including 14 knives, a crossbow, and a stun gun. During the trial, it was revealed that Edward had expressed extreme racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic views, with messages indicating he believed the LGBT community would 'pay in blood' for their actions. His social media presence boasted nearly 28,000 followers, through which he spread his hateful ideology and invited support for proscribed far-right groups. Arrested in September 2022, armed police discovered an 'armoury' at his home, alongside an indoor cannabis plantation. Edward referred to the Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik as 'Saint Anders' and made chilling statements about violence against marginalized communities. He now faces a lengthy prison sentence following his conviction on multiple charges, including those under the Terrorism Act.
