Uber Eats is rolling out AI-powered features to improve the experience for both merchants and customers. The platform now uses AI to generate detailed menu descriptions, summarize customer reviews for actionable insights, and digitally enhance food photos by adjusting lighting, framing, and presentation. Customers in the US, UK, Canada, and Mexico can earn Uber Cash credits by uploading selected photos of their orders, expanding the incentive program beyond the US. The new Live Order Chat feature allows only merchants to initiate real-time conversations with customers for clarifying special requests, dietary needs, and order issues. While these updates are intended to boost restaurant visibility and order accuracy, concerns have emerged about the authenticity of AI-generated images and menu descriptions. These enhancements are part of Uber Eats' broader strategy to streamline restaurant operations and guide customer decision-making through advanced technology.
