Toronto Launches Affordable Housing Lotteries

Several cities are ramping up efforts to address the affordable housing crisis. In Toronto, two new buildings are opening up 114 affordable rental units, but advocates warn that the supply is insufficient compared to demand, with thousands likely vying for just a few hundred available spots. Toronto's housing goals have been increased significantly, yet the pace of construction lags behind approvals, exacerbating the housing shortage.
