Jack Black Parodies My Chemical Romance on SNL

During the April 5 episode of Saturday Night Live, host Jack Black teamed up with cast members Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim for a comedic sketch titled 'Goth Kid on Vacation.' The sketch features Michael Longfellow as a goth teen reluctantly enjoying a family trip to Jamaica, complete with a parody of My Chemical Romance's 'Welcome to the Black Parade.' Black humorously captured the emo aesthetic while delivering lyrics that reflect the goth kid's disdain for vacation activities, opting to stay in his room with graphic novels. The performance seamlessly blended reggae and pop-punk, showcasing Black's impression of Gerard Way, the band's frontman. This marked Black's fourth time hosting SNL, and he celebrated with a musical monologue as well. My Chemical Romance is also currently on their 'Black Parade' stadium tour, marking a return to the stage for the beloved band.
