Caitlin Clark Bids for NWSL Team in Cincinnati

WNBA star Caitlin Clark is part of an ownership group bidding to bring a National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team to Cincinnati. The city is among the finalists for the new team, which will begin play in 2026, joining previously announced expansion Boston to bring the league to 16 teams. Cincinnati's bid is led by FC Cincinnati's ownership and is favored due to its existing soccer-specific stadium and infrastructure, unlike other contenders Cleveland, Denver, and Philadelphia, which need new stadiums. The expansion fee for the team could reach $100 million, a significant increase from the $53 million paid by recent expansion teams Boston and Bay FC.
