Three foreign workers, two from China and one from Myanmar, were found dead after being trapped for over five days in a collapsed railway tunnel in northeastern Thailand, part of the Thailand-China high-speed rail project. The tunnel's collapse, caused by heavy rains, occurred on Saturday night, and initial investigations suggest the workers died due to a lack of air. Rescuers, including teams from Thailand and China, worked tirelessly but faced significant challenges from ongoing landslides that complicated their efforts. Despite having detected vital signs earlier in the week, the workers were ultimately found deceased about 25 meters from the collapse site on Friday. The Thai police have launched an investigation into the incident, and construction in the area has been temporarily halted. Authorities are conducting autopsies to determine the exact causes of death.
