Sunderland Agree £14.7m Deal for DR Congo Midfielder Sadiki

Sunderland has secured the signing of 20-year-old versatile DR Congo international Noah Sadiki from Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise for an initial fee of around €17 million, with potential add-ons bringing the total to €20 million. Sadiki, who can play in midfield, center-back, and right-back, was instrumental in Union Saint-Gilloise's recent league title and European campaigns, earning a place in the Belgian division’s team of the year. Despite interest from clubs such as Leeds United, Brentford, and Frankfurt, Sunderland's recent promotion and ambitious vision convinced Sadiki to join on a five-year deal following his medical in Paris. This signing comes alongside Sunderland breaking their transfer record with the acquisition of Habib Diarra and the imminent arrival of Reinildo from Atletico Madrid, signaling the club's intent to strengthen their squad significantly. However, Sunderland suffered a setback in their pursuit of goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, who opted for a financially lucrative four-year contract with Saudi Pro League side Neom.
