Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a former minister and five-time MLA from Ongole, has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and plans to join the Jana Sena Party led by Pawan Kalyan. In his resignation letter, Reddy cited dissatisfaction with the party leadership and expressed concern over the health impacts of spurious liquor in the state. He mentioned that despite his loyalty and attempts to address party issues, including complaints about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), his concerns were ignored. Reddy's departure adds to the recent turmoil within the YSRCP, which has seen several other leaders resign, including two Rajya Sabha MPs and a former Deputy Chief Minister. The former minister emphasized that his political decisions are motivated by the welfare of the people rather than personal ambition. He expressed a desire for mature politics within his new party and indicated that he would meet with Kalyan to finalize his transition.
