Sheetal Devi Shines at Paris Paralympics

Seventeen-year-old para archer Sheetal Devi has garnered global attention with her impressive performances at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, particularly her viral bullseye shot. Born with phocomelia, Devi uses her feet to shoot and is the only female armless archer competing. Despite narrowly losing in the women's individual compound open event, she won a bronze medal in the mixed compound archery event with Rakesh Kumar. Devi's achievements include being the first female armless archer to win a medal at the Para World Championships and securing gold at the 2023 Asian Para Games. Her performances have inspired many, including celebrities like Barcelona's Jules Kounde, and have elevated her home village of Gunmarhdhar in India.
