Rock Voices Choirs Unite Across Northeast, Oregon

Several music initiatives are celebrating diverse expressions of rock music and providing inclusive opportunities for musicians of varying abilities and backgrounds. RockAbility, founded by Lori Weber, empowers adults with developmental disabilities to perform and develop their musical talents, with a current membership of 22 musicians. The Ikons of Rock, a supergroup known for their authentic performances and visual impersonations of 70s and 80s rock stars, will perform a nostalgic show covering iconic bands like Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and Van Halen. Rock Voices is a no-audition adult choir that sings exclusively rock music across nearly 30 locations, welcoming participants of all ages and experience levels, backed by professional musicians. Their performances, such as the one in West Hartford, feature classic and one-hit wonders and foster community engagement by inviting audience participation. Together, these groups highlight the unifying power of rock music across different communities and abilities.
