Primark Plans 150 Job Cuts Including 100 at Dublin HQ, Outsourcing to India

Primark, the parent company of Penneys, has announced plans to cut around 150 jobs across its operations in Ireland, the UK, and the US, with approximately 100 of those redundancies expected at its Dublin headquarters, representing about 7% of the 1,500 staff there. The job cuts will primarily affect roles in human resources, finance, and procurement and are linked to a strategic decision to outsource some support functions to a third-party provider, Accenture in Mumbai. Primark stated that this move is part of evolving its operating model to support international growth and allow the company to focus resources on its core activities. The company emphasized that these decisions were not taken lightly and expressed commitment to supporting affected employees during the transition.
