Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Fundraisers Raise Millions, Support Victims

The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) hosted its third annual BMAC x Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Music Maker Grants dinner in Los Angeles, combining support for music creatives with efforts to aid those affected by recent wildfires. The event raised funds for the BMAC Fire Relief Fund, featuring performances and grants awarded to individuals and families impacted by the fires, including a $20,000 grant to a family who lost their home. Simultaneously, a benefit concert named FireAid took place, showcasing performances from major artists like Billie Eilish and Katy Perry, and raising funds for wildfire relief through ticket sales and donations. The concert highlighted personal stories from survivors and raised over a million dollars, with funds directed towards both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts. Additionally, a family dance-a-thon in Washington, D.C., organized by local residents, successfully raised $50,000 for Baby2Baby, which provides emergency supplies to affected families in California. These collective efforts emphasize community solidarity and the importance of fundraising for those impacted by the devastating wildfires.
