Eyewitnesses reported that the gate failed while managing the crowd, leading to a stampede. Emergency services quickly responded, providing medical attention to those injured, with some sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the gate's collapse, and a preliminary report is expected soon. The Dhanadhanya Auditorium was inaugurated by Banerjee earlier this year on April 13.
