British Tourist Drugged, Robbed by Three Women on Rio Ipanema Beach

A British university student was drugged and robbed of more than £16,000 while on holiday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a scam known as 'Goodnight Cinderella.' The victim and a friend met three women at a samba dance and later drank cocktails at a local bar, after which the victim collapsed unconscious on Ipanema beach, as captured in viral footage. The suspects, identified as Amanda Couto Deloca, Mayara Ketelyn Americo da Silva, and Raiane Campos de Oliveira, are sex workers targeting tourists; Campos de Oliveira had been previously jailed for similar offenses. The women fled the scene in a taxi, whose driver has been located but is not suspected of involvement. The Special Tourism Support Unit is investigating the incident and has warned visitors to be cautious when socializing and to avoid sharing drinks. The scam, involving date rape drugs like Rohypnol or GHB, has become increasingly common in the area, prompting calls for vigilance among tourists.
